Athletic Hall Of Fame Class Of 2023' Being Welcomed Into The Hall On February 3rd

The Centerville High School Athletic Office is pleased to announce that four new members will be inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, February 3rd at 6:30 PM in the school’s Central Theatre. The induction ceremony is free and open to the public for anyone wishing to attend. The inductees will also be recognized at halftime of the varsity boys’ basketball game that evening against Fairmont at approximately 8:15PM in the main gymnasium. The members of the class of 2022 are Michael Bennett (Football/Track & Field), Scott Chillinsky (Football/Track & Field), Patrick Reynolds (Boys Volleyball Head Coach, Baseball/Football Assistant Coach), and Kyle Rose (Football/Wrestling).

Michael Bennett is a 2011 graduate of Centerville High School where he was a standout athlete in both football and track and field. Michael earned his first varsity letter in track and field, as a freshman, in 2008, and earned a total of seven varsity letters in both football and track and field. For the football team, Michael lettered in his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons leading his class to a total record of 24-10 and an appearance in the Regional Semifinals. Michael was elected to the All-GWOC team in 2010 and 2011. In 2011, Michael earned 1st team All-Ohio honors as an offensive lineman and was invited to the US Army All-American game before beginning his football career at The Ohio State University. Michael ended his career at Ohio State as a national champion before heading to the NFL. In 2015, Michael was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars where he played until 2018 when he signed with the Atlanta Falcons. In track and field, Michael was annual power. In 2009, Michael placed 3rd place in the weight throw during the state indoor season and 9th place in the shot put during the outdoor season. In 2010, Michael placed 3rd place in both the weight throw and shot put during the state indoor season and 3rd place in the shot put and 6th place in the discus during the state outdoor season. In 2010, Michael was also honored as an All-American by Track & Field News. In 2011, Michael placed 2nd in the shot put during the state indoor season. At the 2011 outdoor state meet, Michael placed 6th in the discus and also became the first Centerville athlete to place 1st place in the state in the shot put. In 2011, again, Track & Field News honored Michael as an All-American for the shot put and the discus. Michael was a 3-time GWOC Field Athlete of the Year, holds the school record for indoor shot put, and holds the school record for outdoor shot put and discus. Michael is the District Meet record-holder in the discus and Regional Meet record-holder in the discus. Currently Michael is in law school at Howard University and living in Washington D.C.

Scott Chillinsky is a 2004 graduate of Centerville High School where he was an exceptional athlete for both the football team and the track and field team. In football, Scott earned varsity letters in 2001, 2002, and 2003 while leading his teams to 18 wins in three years. In 2003, Chillinsky earned a plethora of post-season awards which included being chosen for the 1st Team All-Ohio squad at defensive back. Chillinsky’s football career continued as he earned a full athletic scholarship to play football at the University of Cincinnati. In the spring, Chillinsky was a leader and producer for the track team. In 2003, Chillinsky made it to the state meet on the 4 x 400 team which placed 5th. In 2004, Chillinsky made a return-trip to the state meet where he earned 1st team honors by placing 7th in the 400 meters. At the time, Chillinsky was part of a team that broke the school record in the 4 x 400 meters and also broke in the individual school record in the 400 meter race. The Chillinsky name was common on the All-GWOC team in the early 2000’s as he earned multiple honors on the 3rd team, 2nd team, and 1st team both individually and as part of a 4 x 400 meter relay team. Chillinsky now lives in Columbus with his wife Natalie, kids Graham, Reed, and Eleanor, and he works for the Limited Brand.

Pat Reynolds has been hallmark of the Centerville Athletic Department since 1997. From 1997 to 2005, Pat was the boys’ volleyball head coach. During his leadership of the boys’ volleyball team, they reached the state Final Four 6 consecutive times from 1999 to 2004. In 1999 and 2004, they finished as state runner-ups and in 2001 and 2002 the team were state champions. Pat was honored as the Ohio Coach of the Year in 1998 and 2002. Following his tenure as head volleyball coach, Pat took over the JV baseball team for the next 17 years. In that time, he has amassed 214 wins and was honored as the Miami Valley Baseball Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2019. Pat is currently a teacher at Magsig Middle School and is still coaching baseball.

Kyle Rose is a 2011 graduate of Centerville High School where he was a dominant force on the football team and on the wrestling team. For the football team, Rose played defensive line and earned three varsity letters in 2008, 2009, and 2010. Kyle Rose led his team to three consecutive playoff appearances while totaling 24 wins in three years and a GWOC Championship. During his career, he also earned multiple All-GWOC team honors in addition to all-area and all-district honors and an honorable mention All-Ohio. Kyle closed out his Centerville Football career by winning the highest honor in the program, the Sonny Unger Award. Kyle continued his football career at West Virginia where he was a 4-year letter-winner and chosen for the 2nd team All-Big 12 team. Kyle made it to the NFL with the Cleveland Browns before an injury ended his career. As a wrestler, Kyle continued his dominance over the state, finishing with a total record of 140-24, the best record in the history of Centerville wrestling. In 2009, Rose dominated the GWOC, finishing 1st in his weight class and finishing 5th overall at the state meet. In 2010, Rose improved by continuing his dominance in the GWOC, finishing 1st overall before finishing 2nd overall at the state meet. In 2011, Rose took the next step. He won the GWOC, sectional, district, and state championship for his weight class and finished the season an undefeated 35-0 while being honored as a 2011 High School All-American. Kyle is currently a father of two, Marley and Harrison, married to his wife Olivia and working in Charlotte selling medical devices.
