Girls Track & Field Finishes Runner-Up at District Meet

Girls Varsity Track & Field team demonstrated their exceptional talent and determination as they clinched the Runner-Up title at the SWDAB District Championship Track Meet held at Bellbrook High School this past week. The Lady Elks showcased their prowess by securing a remarkable eight individual event qualifiers for the upcoming Regional Meet, along with all four of their relay teams qualifying as well.

The team's outstanding performances were highlighted by the District Champions in various events. The 4 X 200 Meter Relay Team proved their mettle and claimed the district title, solidifying their position as a force to be reckoned with. Additionally, two exceptional athletes, Desiree Ebiringa in the long jump and Ann Lehmann in the Pole Vault, showcased their skills and emerged as district champions in their respective events.

The team's success didn't stop there, as several individuals and relay teams secured their spot in the Regionals next week by finishing within the top four positions in their events. The 4 x 100 Meter Relay, 4 x 400 Meter Relay, and 4 x 800 Meter Relay teams all performed admirably, securing their spots in the next round of competition. Individually, Sofija Keller in the 100 Meter Dash, Samaria Williams in the 200 Meter Dash, Sariah Turner in the 400 Meter Dash, Savannah Conner in the 100 Meter Hurdles, Amelia Knott in the High Jump, and Victoria Kuol in the Shot Put all displayed exceptional skills and earned their well-deserved qualification for the Regionals.

The team's focus now turns to the upcoming Regional Meet, scheduled to take place next Wednesday and Friday at Wayne High School. With their outstanding performance at the District Championship, the Centerville Girls Varsity Track & Field team has undoubtedly established themselves as formidable contenders. As the team progresses in their pursuit of success, they will look to capitalize on their momentum and continue their impressive displays of athleticism.

It is important to note that tickets for the Regional Meet will only be available online, and interested spectators can purchase them at www.ohsaa.org/tickets. We encourage everyone to show their support for the Centerville Girls Varsity Track & Field team as they compete in the Regional Meet, and we eagerly anticipate witnessing their remarkable performances and accomplishments.
