Varsity Softball Shines with Three Consecutive Wins

The Varsity Softball team is on a winning streak, triumphing in three consecutive games after a tough loss to Fairmont. The Lady Elks showcased their skills and resilience on the field, securing victories against tough opponents.

In their first win against Springboro with a score of 8-1, the Lady Elks were led by the outstanding performance of Sophomore Riley Bakan, who went 2 for 4 with a home run (HR) and 3 runs batted in (RBI). Senior Ardyn Hopf also made a significant impact, going 2 for 4 with a HR and 3 RBI. Senior Hayley Arnold's strong pitching led the team to victory with an impressive 11 strikeouts.

The following game against Lakota East ended in a dominating 10-0 win for the Lady Elks. Senior Ardyn Hopf continued her stellar play, going 4 for 5 and breaking the record for total career hits at CHS. Arnold's exceptional performance earned her the title of MVP, going 2 for 4 at the plate and pitching a no-hitter with an incredible 21 strikeouts.

In their third consecutive win against Springboro with a score of 6-2, Junior Hannah O'Connor and Senior Ally Middleton showcased their skills. O'Connor went 2 for 2 with a home run, while Middleton secured the win from the mound with 6 strikeouts.

The varsity team is now 17-4 overall and 9-2 in the GWOC.

The Lady Elks are eager to continue their winning momentum as they face Wayne tonight. The Varsity team will travel to Wayne, while the JV team will host Wayne, with both games starting at 5 pm. The team's recent successes highlight their talent and determination, making them a force to be reckoned with in the softball arena.
